Indications: Respiratory ailments, habitual constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal ulcers, leucorrhoea, blood loss.
Bibhitaka contains 20 to 30 percent of tannins, 40 to 45 percent of water soluble extractive and the major active ingredients include ellagic acid, gallic acid, phyllemblin etc. It’s a strong astringent, gentle laxative, corrects all three humours vata, pita and kapha and nourishes the dhathus.
Dosage: 3 – 6 gram twice a day after food with water or honey.
