Indications: Dyspepsia, flatulence, loss of appetite, diarrhoea among children, hysteria, neuralgia. Stomach pain, gastric problems.
Acorus calamus is traditionally used for its antispasmodic and carminative principles in the form of charcoal to treat ‘mantham’ among infants and its benefits are incomparable. Its major active constituent is beta-Asarone which shows varied pharmacological benefits as antidepressant, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, neuroprotective, cardioprotective and anti-obesity effects.
Dosage: 1 – 2 gm twice a day after food with honey.
