Aegle marmelos is a well known drug for its pitha reducing properties. It is highly helpful in neurodegenerative diseases by inhibiting acetylcholinestrase an enzyme that hydrolyses acetylcholine. Leaves contain alkaloids which are considered useful in diabetes.
Dosage: 1 – 2 gm twice a day after food with water.
