Cichorium intybus is rich in Inulin, a polysaccharide which belongs to a fiber known as fructans. Inulin is the form of stored energy in the rhizomes of Cichorium intybus. Inulin is soluble dietary fiber which is indigestible by the enzyme ptyalin and amylase. It passes through the intestines intact and only in the colon it is metabolized by the bacteria. Since it is not being broken down into monosaccharide it is helpful in the management of diabetes. It also stimulates the growth of bacteria in the gut. Cichorium intybus acts as a diuretic and helps in the management of renal functions. Inulin was used in the study of Glomerular Filtration Rate.  Cichorium intybus as a free radical scavenger helps in inhibition of lipid Peroxidation and in the management of liver pathology.   Cichorium intybus is a stimulant of good health.

Dosage:  1 or 2 Capsule twice daily before food.
